1st Year Seedlings - 2025

10 dahlia seedlings selected to carry on to year 2 out of 100. All of the seed I grew this season was gifted or purchased from dahlia pals, with the exception of some of my own collarette seed from 2023. 

 I’ll grow them out for a few years to observe their qualities before considering introducing them into the world. A few were kept simply for the color, some for the depth of petals, and others for their durability and fortitude in our unpredictable Zone 3! 

In 2025 I intentionally grew my dahlias with the goal of high seed production. I planted varieties I want to see crossed together, hand pollinated others and quit cutting my blooms extra early. My bloom loss resulted in massive seed success, ending the season with over 400!
